Journaling: Earlier in our visit Bryan and I went shopping at the mall with David, Shirley, River, Daylie, and Peggy. We ended up splitting up, and Peggy, Bryan, and I took River. We went to JC Penney where River quickly found the “princess dresses” in the children's section. She kept saying over and over, “I want to wear a princess dress!”
It got to the point where we didn't know how we were going to get her out of the store without her princess dress. Eventually we distracted her, but even several minutes later she was still talking about the princess dresses. Luckily for her she later got a princess dress from Mimi and Pawpaw – and a whole trunk full of princess dress-up clothes from me and Bryan.
On Christmas night we went over to David and Shirley's to exchange presents with them. After the airlines mishandled our luggage for a few days, we were lucky that we got the suitcase of gifts back in time to exchange them with everyone. We got Princess River her trunk of clothes/accessories and got Daylie a magna-doodle so she could be the little artist. Both kids also got a ton of stuff from Grandma Peggy. The floor was a grand assortment of new toys, clothes, and wrapping paper — just how Christmas should be!
