SHCG: What a wonderful interesting page. I just had to look at the closeup to see all of the details. LUV the whimsical photos. There is a lot going on but it's a lot of "great".
SHCG: This is stunning! I love all the textures and colors on this page. The way that you framed the pics is beautiful and the journailing block really looks great. I love how this is so artsy..really insprational. Also congrats on your decision, really a beautiful thing to scrap!
SHCG: What a great idea for a lo! I love all the elements you used here! I think the white frame is a bit bright-may be you can ink/paint it.Great use of the buttons! I love the way you did the journaling! Great lo!
SHCG - Yay Wendy, what a joyous decision & a marvelous scrap subject! I love all the embellies, techniques, bits of color & patterns, flowers, music, textures, etc - all of it comes together to make an upbeat outstanding creative stew-of-a-page! Before I even read the comments below, I was thinking about the colors you chose for the pic frames. I like the bright white but think the bottom 2 (bronze & gold) are too similar, making the white stand out more. So I'd switch either the bronze or gold frame for perhaps one in a bright color (blue, yellow, pink?) that's also echoed on the page. 'Tis a tiny thing, though... Sensational work on this! PS Love the journaling too.
shcg: this is absolutely wonderful. i am loving the messiness of it, and the colors. the elements are wonderful additions. beautifully done, as always!
SHCG: I gave an overall look to the page and then read the journaling, then looked at the LO again. Wow, it changed how I viewed the LO. I liked the musical notes and the placement of them on the LO. The two borders going down the page are awesome. I like how you used colors associated with both male and female. The white framed picture keeps grabbing my attention, it may not be that way in person but if it is I agree with Brenda on mucking it up just a bit. The clock is a great addition to this and I am sure it has several meanings. The white ribbon going from the title to the journaling is a nice touch. I like the torn and tattered look to some of the paper...one of your specialties. I love seeing all the elements you put into a LO and they always turn out fantastic.
SHCG: I love your journaling. Together with your title, you say so much in just a few words about this major step the two of you have decided to make in the life you share. I also like that it's not heavy with metaphors (like my comment almost seems to sound to me :) ). Love the personal treatment you gave this page with the paint and mist, especially the faint black wash behind the title and the bright blue for the journaling (hoping for a boy? eh? :} ). Kinda neat how the blue paint covers the division between the scallop and layers next to it. I'll take your word for it that the embellies you chose have personal meaning to you, but I hafta see those buttons anchored down. You have holes already in the white frame and something about all those holes on one page don't gel with me given your page's subject. Can't explain it, just not liking the feeling. I'd also like to see the white frame a lil' bit mucked up since it's much brighter than the bottom two, but not too mucked up, since I do like what the white brings to all the muckiness, just like I like what all the other bright colors add to the page. One last suggestion--one more flower, to keep the numbers odd as you currently have four, maybe a chippie so it's not as dimensional as the other ones, and placed behind the pink button left of the white frame. This will also create several overlapping triangles. Can you see them? I can, and it's pretty neat what it does for my eyes traveling around your page. Love the lace trim, loose button, music notes, and the silly-sweet lil' photos.
I had so much fun making this layout! I love making a mess on these pages with paint and ink and glimmer mist. I made the butterfly on this page using a tutorial at Tidbitz In Time. Oh, I also made the paper flower using a Tim Holtz sizzix strip.
