Journaling: I must admit, you've been a very difficult girl lately. You are very stubborn and will do anything to avoid using the potty. We know you're ready, but you are holding onto your last part of babyhood. You've forgone just about all privileges, including visiting the playground, watching your favorite movies, and getting new toys. But I've still managed to find ways to enjoy you despite your stubborn streak. One such way is using you to help me get rid of flies. This summer, we've had a bit of an infestation of those dirty little things. Yet though they are a nuisance, they have given us something to do during this period of confinement. I walk around with the fly swatter and vacuum, and you point them out. You say, “there's a flyyyyyy!!” And then, “kill it, kill it!” The other day, we must have gotten 20 this way. It has given me an excuse to take a break from the potty and enjoy you as a little helper.
