I saw your idea on Pinterest. I don't have distress ink pads, but I do have some thicker ink pads than Stampin Up's skinny ones. I was keeping my ink pads in storage boxes. However then I ordered a large lot of Stampin Up ink pads on eBay. The storage boxes are not working anymore. I am so glad that you shared such an ingenious and inexpensive way to store all of my ink pads.
I'm not sure why my Target doesn't keep then in stock. I can only imagine that it has something to do with the style of the times. I don't see many people putting CDs on the walks, or DVDs either. Mine are in baskets or in the cabinet. How about your house?
I just went to get some more at Target, and they didn't carry them anymore. I was able to get them from Amazon.
Be sure to install them upside down for the distress inks, and attach both the top and bottom.
I found these and got them for this purpose. Mine are kind of loose. I busted one trying to get it to hold better. Suggestions? I'm afraid of grabbing on in the middle and they all fall out. Or if one of them falls and opens up=ink every where and pad dried up.
What a great solution! I have been looking for a way to store these! I have a ton of them and they are all stacked up. I did make labels for the sides of them with the name and the color on them. However, they are all stacked up and it is just cumbersome to get to the one I want quickly! I love this idea! Thanks for sharing!!
It has taken me months to find the perfect distress ink holder that will fit in my budget, hold the inks upside down, not stack, and not take up space on my small table. The solution: DVD/CD holder from Target that cost me $12! I just had to put the media stix upside down to hold the distress inks well. the package comes with 4 stix, and each of them will hold 14 ink pads so I have enough for all the pads with another stix left over. The labels you see are simply mailing labels that I typed up and printed, rubbed on the pad, and then stuck on the side. I actually have one on the other side that is flipped so the print is right side up whether they are hanging in the older upside down or sitting right side up on my desk. Soon I'll show you the solution I came up with for the blending foam pads.
