Boiler Avenue, Spindletop, 1903 and Spindletop Oilfield

These are two LOs in a series of LOs dedicated to telling the history of Oil in Texas. I purchased the photo at the Gladys City/Spindletop Museum. The large journaling page details the discovery and the photo caption reads: This scene illustrates the densest drilling in Texas. By 1903, more than 400 wells had been drilled on the dome.
