This is a beautiful lo and I agree with Gabrielle and grandma sue, I really like the book plate it just doesn't seem finished without it, anyway you did a fantastic job here!!!! :)
LEAVE the bookplate! I Love it. It seems to complete the word 'true'. I compared the two layouts, side by side, and I like the bookplate. Great layout too!!
Lori this is such a beautiful page, love the subtle colours you chose, they so nicely compliment the lovely photo of your mum, and I'm afraid I have to disagree - I like the bookplate, I don't think it overpowers because of the soft colour pp you used inside it, it lightens the effect. Great job on framing the photo with stitching - a perfect touch!!
Yes i agree, the lo is beautiful and that picture of your mom is lovely...the bookplate just distracts from it...like the above poster said if the picture had been bigger then it might have worked better....I just love the antique feel of your lo....and the colors are amazing!
Lori, this looks fabulous! Love those pp's and the way you did "beautiful". Just stunning! Your mother is gorgeous and you've showcased that beautifully. In my opinion, I would leave the bookplate off --it kind of distracts from the picture. It might work if perhaps if you used a larger photo.
My beautiful mother. And not just on the outside. I had earlier posted a lo with the same pic and title, but just hated it. LOVE this one. It's a shameless scraplift of Swtgal80's "Spoken For", but with a gorgeous lo like that, how can you help but lift it? Thanks for the inspiration Swtgal80! I do have a dilemna though, can't decide whether the bookplate is too much or not. Please feel free to critique!
