I lived in Bolivia three times as kid, for a total of about 2 years. Unfortunately, my parents took no photos. I've been wanting to scrap memories from this part of my life for some time, but just never started because of the lack of photos. I decided to use pictures from the Internet to fill in this gap of my life. Journaling reads:

We had these trees on our property. Dozens and dozens of trees bearing odd fuzzy fruits called membrillos. I later learned that they were quince trees. We'd pluck these fruits right off the trees, rub off the grayish-brown fuzz with our thumbs, and bite into the yellow fruit–only to be met with a bitter taste that made our toes curl. But that never stopped us from chomping into those membrillos. I suppose we kept hoping that the next one we bit into would reward us with the sweet, delicious flavor of the juice that could be made from boiling these quirky fruits. What a treat that was–we'd drink it warm, like tea. Such surprising sweetness from such a bitter fruit!

Materials: Dream street (brown), MME Bohemia (pink), and unknown (orange) patterned papers. SEI tab. Heidi Swapp chipboard letters.
