I chose Traci's layout “Blur” to scraplift. While my layout will never have the impact of Traci's layout, I went for a blurred effect with the photo by desaturating it and applying a diffused glow in photoshop. By making the photo large enough to cover 2 pages, I was able to add the title and journaling on the right hand side. The photo was taken of my daughter while we were in Chicago this summer and the journaling reads as follows: Because we were on vacation, I was able to spend more time with you in Chicago than is typical for us. It was interesting to observe how much you’ve changed. You’ve become much more reflective, spending more time alone processing the events of the day. You’ve also become more independent, either taking the lead on activities or heading off on your own (within a site of us, of course) to take photos or explore. You’ve become more assertive, telling us what you would like to do and why. You’ve become more gracious, realizing that there will be times when you do something just because it makes someone else happy. You’ve become more patient, letting me stop for a few more photos before making it clear that it’s time to move on. You’ve gained depth and it becomes you! Thanks for looking! Sue
