This is what I came up with for the photo inspiration challenge.It is an old fashioned book plate to put in the front of those special books that you want to identify as your own.I'm not totally satisfied with it and might try to tweak the design a little later.The background image is made from a photo I took a couple of years ago of a tree peony in my garden. I've used photoshop to select areas of it and rotate etc. to make a sort of a frame around the centre and then added Ex Libris also with Photoshop. I printed that,and then stamped the cat image with “The Gardencat ” using a stamp I had made up a couple of years ago to use on bags for my little business. If I were doing it again I think I would extend some of the grey tone into the centre so there is not such a stark change to pure white. The inspiration came from first the pile of old fashioned books making me think back to how much books used to be valued and hence the use of book plates and the choice of frame image, from the vase of flowers. I also wanted to capture the feeling of the soft colours used in the inspiration photo.
