I'm only 3 weeks away now, thank goodness!!

Journaling: I realize that no pregnancy is alike, so there should be no comparison. Still, when I learned I was pregnant with you, I expected the same things I experienced with Sean: no morning sickness, a little back pain, some heartburn, a 37 lbs weight-gain… Turns out, this pregnancy could not be more different than the first one!

First of all, I’ve been nauseous since the very beginning. And sick. Really sick. Enough that I actually lost weight early on. I put on my first pound in my fifth month. It became so bad that I decided to go with my doctor’s advice and take some meds (diclectin) even though I am not a big “pill person”. Perhaps it didn’t save my life, but it sure saved my sanity and my strength!!

Second, that “little back pain” has become huge! It is quite awful. From almost the beginning of my pregnancy, I’ve had pain in my lower back. In my second trimester began a shooting pain on the right every time I put pressure on my right leg (walking, going up/down the stairs, trying to get dressed). Some days, I can’t even bend down or walk properly. If your brother Sean throws something on the floor, it stays there until Daddy comes home! A little after this picture was taken (which was at 5-and-a-half months), a horrible pain in my middle back started. It feels like a boa is constricting my back. It even prevents me from breathing properly. Because of that, I don’t sleep very well.

Now, as I write these words, I only have 3 short months to go! I’ve put on a total of 5 lbs, so I doubt I’ll reach number 37 this time around! My back pain is still the worst part of the pregnancy. I’m still taking the anti-nausea meds, so that’s not really an issue. I don’t care about all that, though. I may complain a lot, but I love being pregnant with you! I can feel you moving and I can’t wait to see you. I don’t mind all these discomforts when it means I’ll have a beautiful and healthy baby in the end!

PP: Chatterbox – Garden (Garden Pebbles and Soft Garden Plaid, both front and back);Chipboard letters: Heidi Swapp – She – Brown;Rub-on letters: Heidi Swapp – Bordeaux – Pink;Letter stickers: Provo Craft – Large Vowel Alphabitties;Rub-on stitching: Die Cuts With a View – White;Rubber Stamps: Stampin’ Up!;Ink: Nick Bantock – Van Dyke Brown;Font: Avant Garde Bk BT (MS Word);

Created September 2006.
