This layout is about my ds' first touch into the chilly waters of Puget Sound. I had my husband snap photos quickly and lined them up horizontally to show the movement into the water. The third scan shows both pages together, which I think looks better than seeing one page at a time. Papers and accents by Club Scrap (July 2003).The journaling, in case anyone's interested, reads: This is the beach where I grew up, Eld Inlet in Olympia Washington, one of the many fingers of Puget Sound. I’ve loved this beach for as long as I can remember. When I was a little girl, my Dad used to take me to the beach after dinner in the summer. Mom would always call out the door, “Don’t get wet!” Of course, I would always come home wet, having swung on the rope swing, splashing. On weekends, I’d spend all day digging around in the sand for clams and luring crabs with bologna on the end of a string. As a teen, Dad would often take me waterskiing or we’d just cruise around in the boat. Oh, how I used to love to waterski like I love to breath! I started really appreciating the sunsets when I was in high school, using the beach as a place to relax and appreciate the outdoors. Clean, fresh air, quiet sounds of birds, and the rainbow of sunset colors make the beach my favorite place to relax. Daddy took these pictures of you 4/20/03 as I let your toes touch the salty bay water for the first time. Your little toes curled away from the water at first, but you were intrigued by the squish of sand under your feet. Connor, I hope you grow to love water, and this beach, as much as I do. 7/11/03
