March 28, 2006. Josh was still running a fever so we took him to an Urgent Care facility nearby. An exam and a chest x-ray later we found he had a double ear infection. Thankfully it wasn’t pneumonia. The doctor prescribed amoxicillin. March 29, 2006. Due to Josh’s illness, we pretty much took it easy all day and prepared to fly home the next morning.

Thursday, March 30, 2006 – We got up and finished packing. We left for the airport at 7:20am. Sarah was the only one awake to say goodbye. We arrived at the airport and turned in our rental car. We filled out an accident report. We checked our bags and went through security. We had breakfast at the airport café and then boarded our plane. The plane took off at 9:41am and the ride was pretty smooth. Josh did great despite his double ear infection that could have made takeoff and landing quite painful for him. We landed at 12:24pm in Dallas/Fort Worth. Mike changed Josh's diaper and we hung around the airport until it was time to board our next plane to Chicago that was scheduled to take off at 3pm. We ate McDonalds while we waited.

We boarded our plane to Chicago and it took off at 3:13pm. Josh slept most of this flight, first on Mike's lap and then on mine. He was pretty good the time he was awake too. We kept him occupied with toys, books, and snacks. I took some photos during this flight. We landed in Chicago at 5:36pm.

We killed some time at the Chicago airport until we boarded our plane to Flint. We had a really quirky flight attendant that was very concerned that Mike be sure to protect Josh's head on takeoff and landing. Josh refused to nurse so I was a little worried about his ears during takeoff. We took off at 7:40pm. It was our only night time flight of the trip so it was neat to see the lights on the ground. The flight was very short and Josh did a good job. Finally, at 9:15pm, we landed in Flint. Mike's mom and dad were there waiting for us to help us load up the luggage and get us home. We stopped by our "Travel Bug Rest Stop" to leave a couple travel bugs. Then we were home at last. Josh was so happy to be home with his own toys. Roxy was thrilled to have us home.

After winding down, we all went to bed, happy to be at home in our own beds at last.

The End.
