I just want to thank everyone for their very constructive critisim. I really liked the idea of a steering wheel as the "O". . .I never thought of that! I chose the papers because for some reason in my mind I kept thinking red when it came to this lo. My lss was having a sale on AC pp so I just went with it. The zig zags behind the photo were part of a larger peice of paper. I cut them out attempting to make it look like roads. I also put arrows in between the lines going this way and that (I don't know if you can see them). The strip of pp behind Phoenix is of circles, which also made me think of traffic. I don't know what I was thinking about when I chose the dotted paper behind me? I definitely agree that the HOUR does need to stand out more. I was thinking maybe I'll paint white dashes on it and make it look like a road. I also think and arrow or something above the title wouldn't hurt.

I LOVE the letters cut from map paper! Love it. Makes me think I need to tear thru my pp stash and put some of those papers I think are too "busy" in a special place just for lettering! There's something about balance here that is pulling at me - I am really into defining spaces lately, so take this for what it's worth - maybe adding a black mat (very thin) or pen line around some of the areas on the LO would make them stand out and balance each other differently. I am thinking especially of the pp area (white w/ dots) with the journaling on it - I would be tempted to trim your photo down just a bit so it shows the pp behind it - giving some continuity for the journaling above and below (which I LOVE and think reminds me of backed up traffic - congested and dislocated feeling!!! awesome) and then putting the whole vertical pp piece on a bit of black or using a med-point marker to draw around the pp piece so it stands out more on it's own? the other thing I am into is not laying every photo straight - and i think phoenix's photo would be cute at a slight angle - moving the top left edge down so the bottom comes up and in... I love Melissa's idea for the steering wheel - especially if you could find one with a lot of detail - like a metallic center and some of that grippy-wrap stuff - I can totally see it. and the "rush hour" aspects of grippign the wheel and being frustrated would come through. I really like the rick-rack background on this LO. Overall, I really really like it. I wouldn't be at all opposed to seeing it stay as-is, but we're doing critique, so.....

I agree with the paper...i think something about it doesnt match the theme. Although the blue zig zags look like they could be roads to me. I like the cars or bumper type themed paper. I was thinking a clock for the O as well, or maybe a stering wheel.

I like the map letters used however I think the title is too squished. I really like the zizags used in back of the page and would like to see them become more dominant. Like have one come on top of everything and intertwine instead of being a background. Hope these comments cater to your personal style.

I like the clock suggestion, think that would really pop and I think it would certainly tie in with the theme. I really like the way you used the photo corners (that is what they are, right?) for arrows. GREAT IDEA! Cost effective as well! Might think about sprucing up the black "HOUR" letters with something to make them pop a little more. Especially around your photo where it's kind of dark and blends together. Maybe some light doodling or polka-dots with your white pen. Dots would blend in with your PP.

I think this looks great. I like both ideas of using a stop sign as the "o" and also the clock. In this case I think the clock would look the best though. I think your handwritten journaling looks awesome. I like MommieSonger's idea of grouping the words. Maybe something to try on the next layout!! You did a great job.

I really like the map idea for "rush". However, I don't see how the paper ties in with the theme...I would try to find some pp with cars bumper-to-bumper or something traffic related. Now that I look closer, I see the arrows, but I would still look at different pp. I also love the handwritten journaling! Maybe try to write groups of words on the strips of paper with individual words (maybe: traffic, cried, relentlessly, Finally, asleep) emphasized. Good idea of a stop sign for an "O", but was it a stop sign causing traffic issues?
