I wanted to create a fun summer birthday card for a boy who loves dogs with this adorable Whimsy Puppy With Balloons stamp. I altered the stamp a bit by wiping away the fizzled out balloon by his feet before stamping him out so that the puppy could be flying through the sky rather than just standing with his balloons. Then I Copic colored and fussy cut him out to pop him up on foam dots for a little dimension.

For the background, I made a DIY cloud stencil and blended on some Distress Ink in Tumbled Glass to create a sense of a sky filled with puffy clouds.

To emphasize the idea of the little puppy being lifted up and flying through the sky by his balloons, I adhered him at an angle and up and over an oval frame that I die cut out to "frame" this focal image.

The Memory Box die cut Birch Trio die was also altered just by using a marker to ink up the characteristic markings on birches.

The Sizzix celebrate word die was used with a scrap of card stock that I colored in an ombre to match the colors of the balloons.

To add sparkle, I used glitter glue over the balloons and the "celebrate" and used Glossy Accents to add shine to the pup's eyes and nose
