This layout was the story of a recent adventure that my kids, my sister and I went through. The journaling is as follows:

"While on vacation, Jenny and I took the kids to Meyer’s Park in Lansing. It was such a hot day, we decided to go in the lake to cool off. A couple of minutes later I could hear the rumbling of thunder and see lightning across the lake. So we got out and I told the kids we would wait till the storm passed and then go back in. We went under a pavilion to be safe. The wind started picking up and at first we thought it felt good, since it had been so unbearable. Well, the wind picked up some more, and then the rain started. It got so bad that I could hardly stand. Tarrah started screaming with fear, and Dylan was screaming with joy! He thought it was awesome. So, being a little scared myself, we all decided to make a run for the car. Well, after checking the weather via cell phone, we found out we were in a major storm and that the winds were in excess of 65 MPH. Trees were coming down around us. The wind slowed and I took the opportunity to leave just as the rain picked up again. On our drive back, we saw destruction everywhere. Power lines were down in the middle of the road. It’s scary to think that my kids were out in that type of a storm. Needless to say, from now on, we’re checking the weather report before we go anywhere."
