My great-great Uncle Leander was a family favorite and very well liked by all. He fought in WWI with both the army as well as the navy. While away at war, his nephew, Lloyd sent him a letter with this photo of himself and his dog inside. On the back is written,

"Me and Shep is both looking for you to come home. Both looking"

Very sweet.
