Thanks so much everyone for your comments! I totally agree with you all about bringing the patterned paper to the top for some balance. I just am not sure how yet. I will definetly be trying something out with that, and I will repost the layout again. Thanks again!
I agree, another great layout. I love how you used the blue as an accent color. I also agree that using more of the pp toward the top would give you a balance to your lo.
Beautiful layout! I really like the color you used. Especially the red background, goes very nicely with the slide picture. I'm not sure what you had originally intended for this layout but did a very good job. I would also like to see a little more of the pattern paper. Maybe as someone else suggested, near the top. Just a small piece. I think that would really pull your layout together. Besides that, I think you did an exceptional job! And you did an awesome job inking!
Janelle,
your inking is *exquisite*!! The photos turned out great, actually everything turned out great!!! I love this page. The only suggestion I have is maybe adding a block of your flower pp in upper right hand, layered under your large beige block and photo, and of course under the twine?? I don't know that it would look better but I am trying to offer a suggestion for the sake of the "critique" group. That said, if you left it as-is I doubt you'd ever regret it cause it's beautiful!
I don't know what your original idea was, but this one turned out great. The pictures grab ones attention, the inking ads style, and the arrangement of everything makes the eye swing around the page, which goes great with the topic of the pictures.
These are pictures of my son playing at a park at our family reunion. I had a hard time doing this layout because the idea I had originally wasn't working out. This is what I ended up with.
