This beautiful lady was my great grandmother. I have so many fond memories of her. As a child I lived with her and her daughter my grandmother. And Granny as we called her I slept with and she said I had the coldest feet she ever saw and she wrapped them in the tail of her gown to warm. She was so sweet and wonderful and the bravest woman I ever knew. As a young wife of 23 she lost her young husband and she was Pregnant with my grandmother and had a son who was 2. She lived 63 years longer raising them by herself and never marrying again. When she was a child she survived a Typhoid epidemic that killed 4 of her siblings in 10 days. I remember her telling of how her mother washed and dressed her children and put them on the porch for the death wagon to pick them up and bury them in mass unknown graves. Because most of the country was quaranteened. I remeber her sewing and making wonderful pies. As a young girl of 16 I sat at her bed as she was dying and held her hand. She was wonderful, sweet and beautiful until the very end although she went though a lot of suffering she never once complained.. This is for the bravest woman I ever knew. I loved you Granny
