i was going to say the squares, too..but you said you only wanted to do a little journaling. You could do hidden journaling if you want and put it behind one of the squares with a pull tab.. you could also write it sideways down the left edge, across the bottom, then up sideways on the right edge..am i making sense? probably not..
I vote for the blank squares. Use a template and put a very thin pencil line, journal and then wait a few minutes to use a good "white" eraser to get rid of the pencil line. Beautiful work, btw!
I had all these small images so I tried this block method that I've seen on various sites and books. I also wanted to add the water drops so I decided to use the lowercase alphabet stencil I got from dollar tree and then drew the drops. At the bottom I used one of th fiskars shapecutter templates to tear various blue paper to look like waves and on the bottom dark blue I used gesso and white paint to create that shiny look. I need help though figuring out where to put the little bit of journaling I want to to. I've thought about along the 'waves' at the bottom or in the blank squares but I don't know what will look best any ideas?
