For the September Live To Scrap Challenge... "Scrap Something Sweet" ...Twist / I doodled on a few of the letters. Journaling reads: When we were growing up, my brother and I had "Candy Day". During the week we were not allowed to have candy (except on special occasions like Halloween or Easter), but on Saturday mornings we could have as much as we wanted. Surprisingly enough, we never ate so much we got sick though. It was the highlight of the week. In the 70’s Saturday morning was also when all the cartoons were on TV. Our parents usually went shopping for the candy stash during the week, so it was all there on Saturday, waiting for us in the cupboard. And both sets of grandparents had a well stocked “candy cupboard” as well, just incase we stayed Friday night with them. Pop Rocks, Ghiradelli drops, Brach’s Pic-A-Mix (my favorites were the Neopolitan Chews), Lik-M-Aid, Jolly Ranchers, Cherry Mountain Bars, Candy Necklaces, Wax Bottles, Charms Blow Pops & Sweet & Sour Pops, Adam’s Ice Cream gum….Now most of these are considered “nostalgic” candies…. TFL!
