I just love getting these snapshots of Malory with her pink blankie in her mouth. She actually has 3 of these and yes, they are part of the family. The original one she got as a newborn and began strongly favoring it by the time she was one. From then on we couldn't be anywhere without it. The second blankie came about when we left the first one at my in-laws (3hrs away) and by the 3rd night of crying my husband drove 6 hours just to get it!!! We then bought another one to have as an extra. Well, she just ended up taking both of them everywhere!!! They have names......Deets, she calls them because when she was beginning to talk she would help me put 'sheets' on our beds and that is how she pronounced it. All blankets were 'deets'. So we had 'pink deets' and 'more pink deets'!!! The 3rd one joined the family when I was concerned over the wear of the first two and thought maybe I should buy another one and put one of the others away. Nope....now we have 'pink deets', 'more deets' and 'new deets' AND she knows which is which!!!! So anyway, they are family. They go with us everywhere, they read books with us, they join us for all holidays, dinner and sometimes photos. When asked who was in her family she used to say, "Daddy, Mommy, Skylar, Bradley, me, pink deets, more deets and new deets!" They are a part of her, a part of us. Thanks to 'Sugarvp' for the inspiration of the small blocks!
