Journaling reads: You are so serious. I can see the pressure of business and Life creasing your brow. I know you are humoring me, looking towards my lens as any good brother would.
When did you fall into this pit of worry and insomnia? How did you become so careworn and work-driven? Where did you learn to calculate you life so carefully? None of this diminishes my love for you. If anything, it makes me want to shield you, to share your burdens, to ease you cares, to fix your hurts.
But this is how you are now. I cannot protect and fix. I can only support and love. I must learn to reconcile this you with the smiling, laughing, care-free you my heart remembers: Where is that silly kid in the plaid pants?
Know I am waiting for those moments when the seriousness cracks. Know I am looking for your smile. Know I will answer when you call. Know I love you beyond words - always.
