journaling (under family picture): Easter for the Betancourt family means gathering, eating and chaotic conversations. since Dad's death, Mom has moved into a teeny-tiny, itty bitty, two-bedroom house in town. Perfect for just her and Chico (her teeny-tiny dog). But, with well over 40 people arriving for food and Easter activities, it was more chaotic than usual. still, we managed to enjoy the day and catch up on gossip. Easter also menas cascarones (confetti eggs.) the children love chasing each other around, smashing eggs on heads. for this reason, the adults usually hang around inside until the madness passes. unfortunately for Susie, Patsy and David broke the rules and graced her with a couple of eggs. she was soooo outraged! i thought it was funny as heck, but she's sworn revenge on Patsy and David. They won't know where, they won't know when, but she's going to get them.
