The red tab that has "Lessons" on it pulls out and tells the story. Top red tab says "Kreig checks to see if Mocha fits in new luggage." And bottom red tab says "No more overpacking for me. I learned my lesson...really!" I used Cricut Cutting Up cartridge for the title. The story on pull out is: I have always over packed…..ALWAYS. In 2006 we went on a cruise and, as always, I over packed. I tried very hard not to go over the 50 lb. weight limit the airlines have now imposed. I think I was a pound or two over outbound and they let it go. You have to pay $25 if you are over. Sometimes I was moving things around at the airport, to make things fit. At the end of the vacation I had so many bags I was worried we might miss one getting out of the cab. So I hopped out fast to count the bags. In the process I left my striped Princess duffle sitting on the side of the seat in the van….and the taxi drove off before I realized it. So, short story, I left my name all over the place and eventually got my bag back. When it was sent back it was missing my iPod, a paperback book, and some small change and a pouch I used for international currency. So happy ending basically. But, I was embarrassed and mad at myself, and I decided I would do better in the future.

This year, Sept 2007, Kreig and I went on a 15 day vacation to the Bahamas, Florida and a 1 week cruise in the Caribbean. We bought some new, smaller luggage. Each of us to one rolling duffel bag, one hanging garment bag and that was it. I had the rolling carry on as well. We did not hit close to the 50 weight limit on any of them, going and coming home. I learned my lesson. I can travel with less and it was not painful at all. I even know a few more things I can go without.
Lesson learned.
