A regular album is easy to turn into a photo/layout album format. Simply make one layout for each major event (choose photos that depict your true memories and feeling) and then subsequent layouts for photos that contain simple descriptions only (no major scrapbooking). Use similar colors of cardstock for the photo layouts so they tie to the event layout.

This layout shows a major event (an accident when I was a child that involved stitches) during the summer of 1963 when our family took a trip to visit grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.

The subsequent pages hold photos of less major sites and experiences from the vacation. All photos are documented with information that includes answers to the following questions:

1. WHO are the people in the photos?
2. WHERE were the photos taken?
3. WHEN were the photos taken?
4. WHY were the photos taken and why are they significant?
5. WHAT feelings are remembered?
