I've never heard of seafood in artichokes before. My grandparents came here from Italy and they made them w/ salami chunks, bread crumbs, cheese and garlic. I love seafood, I'm gonna have to try this out.
What we had for dinner tonight. I had steamed the artichokes yesterday. My mother brought over steamed blue crabs and fresh shrimp.
Ds scooped out the middles of the artichokes, saved the tender leaves in the middle for filling later. Dh chopped up an onion, peeled and cut up the shrimp. I took the meat out of the crabs. Chopped up the leaves from the center. Sauteed the onions in butter until they were clear/translucent, added the shrimp bits until they were done, then added the chopped up center leaves and steamed crab meat.
I found it was best to eat from the outside in. Son ate from the middle out. Dh did both. We're still in debate about which method was best but frankly, mine is. :D
That's melted butter in the bowl for the artichoke leaves and heart. :D
