Angela this is beautiful and I love the guilded feeling that this emotes. The journaling is perfect. The layering is gorgeous and I love everything about this. I might suggest a mat directly under the photos to contrast against the cream and to make the pictures pop. However, I love this the way it is, as well!
Hi you. Your photo placement rocks as well as your color choices. So chique and so reminiscent. I love that the photos tell a timeline and the little accents of red used everywhere. My only ish is the lighter stripe of the cream patterned paper around the photos is too large and so it distracts them instead of drawing your eyes to them.
Lovely scrapjack adaptation! Great colors, great patterns, great journaling! And yes, ooh, the significance of receiving the pps as a gift. They're absolutely perfect for this page. I love the brads, the title, the vellum, the quote font, and especially what Shel Silverstein brings to the page. I also like the years delicately and inconspicuously written by the photos like that, as well as your signature at the bottom. One minor suggestion: I think I'd like to see either a thin mat behind the photo strip, maybe with vellum.
Angela, wowzers!!! Great paper, great photos and the greatest journaling! Love the vellum here and the quote is just perfect here! Great , great, great lo!
This is a great LO. I love how you changed the orientation of the lifted LO. I love that background with the design on it, and how you can see it through the vellum quote and title. Love the mat of the photos, it really makes them stand out. Love the note you wrote to yourself. This is a great response for both challenges.
Wow Angela, this is fabulouso. Excellent change of the scrapjacked LO's orientation. Love the rich papers & colors...so elegant& pretty. Really like the rounded-corner vellum mattes, particular for the title...just having that translucent & being able to see the pattern underneath, is so very cool looking. I also really love the Silverstein quote, I remember that from childhood & could probably recite it w/ minimal prompting. Lovely walk through your past, I like what you say to yourself & how you say it. (May I ask who you ended up being a 2nd mom for? Don't mean to pry but I'm intrigued...no need to respond to me unless you want to). Wonderful work & outstanding response to TWO challenges!
This is a response to two Scrap Happenzz weekly challenges; "Scrapjack Brenda" (http://www.scrapbook.com/galleries/110237/view/910201/-1/0/1.html) and writing a letter to my 'younger self'. Nice bonus: all pp used in this layout was a birthday present to me this year (ooh; significance! lol!) The journaling reads: "Dear younger me, I know you are responsible, hard-working, a 2nd mom and a 100% people pleaser; *are* you a teenager?! Please don't worry about what others think & maybe next time get "really out there" earlier! I've found out that you have earned the most respect & had the most fun when you *live* & are *just you*!" The Shel Silverstein (great children's poet) quote in the bottom right is "Listen to the mustn'ts child. Listen to the don'ts. Listen to the shouldn'ts, teh impossibles, the won'ts. Listen to the never haves, then listen close to me...anything can happen, child. Anything can be." TFL!
