I got inspiration for this page when I saw the beautiful ocean behind the Marines. I was so proud of Bill for making it to Aircraft Commander. Journaling reads, " On Friday, February 4th, 2005 at 7:00 in the morning Bill climbed into his KC-130 to take his first flight as Aircraft Commander. He had Gayland James as his copilot, and a crew of 5 other Marines. AFter seven years of training and hard work he was finally the person in charge of the mission and the aircraft. The mission was to Iwo Jima island. This picture was taken of Bill and his crew there on top of Mt. Suribachi where Marines, 60 years ago placed the US flag after taking over the island. When I asked Bill how it felt he said, "absolutely awesome!"
