This LO is for Toofclnr's Imperfect Lives challenge. We had to create a LO about a fear of ours. For me, it's that my sister will never want to be clean.

The journaling in the book reads:
My sister suffers from learning disabilities and serious emotional disturbances. At 25 she can now read at a 4th grade level. We are all proud of her academic accomplishments and hope to see her obtain a GED someday.
Unfortunately, she hasn't made similar strides with her SED. Instead of seeking the help she desperately needs she chooses to self-medicate with drugs and alcohol.
Family and friends have tried many times to convince her to get clean and support her while she struggles to stay clean. She has been jailed for her daughter's birthday, temporarily lost custody of her girls, been homeless, lost countless friends who just couldn't watch her continue to throw her life away.
There is only so much we can do to help her but it is all for naught if she doesn't WANT to get clean. She's been high and/or drunk more then not since she was 16.
Last year our family suffered a great loss that we were hopeful would inspire her. Our cousin, Robby, passed away of a heart attack at age 31. Our family is very close and he is as a brother to us. He led a hard life with drugs and alcohol heavily used. While his heart attack wasn't a direct result of substance abuse, years of use made it too hard for his body to recover. She was clean for only days before using again. I can only hope my sister will WANT to be clean before she loses everything.

I didn't cut any of the paper in the LO except the flames I made awhile back.

Thanks for looking :)
