I hope you are keeping copies of your little descriptions and printing them with your LO's they just finish the page. Yet again you have 'Perfection'. If not start making extra pages just for your Journaling please
Now this is why we scrapbook. When I found my Grandma's Journal, I cried like a baby, then took it to the scraproom and started scrapping it. This is a beautiful page. Favs (featured LO)
This is an absolutley gorgeous layout. The story itself touched me. I come from a long line of military, my dad, my BIL and my husband all military. My grandfather also fought in WW2...
What a wonderful way to remember your grandmother and highlight your fathers beautiful letters! Def going into my favs!
This layout truly touched me. I'm a military wife and the poem touched my heart so much. I love this layout. I'm adding it to my favs! Great work and thanks for sharing.
This is a great way to perserve history. That's so cool that you have the original letters. I really like the pictures and the envelopes are a great addition too.
This is stunning. Your work to put this together is just full of feeling - you did a fabulous job. I can get a feeling of your grandmother and her big family and all the boys off in the war while the daughters and she are at home trying to hold things together. I am so grateful for her that all her boys were returned to her. Wonderful wonderful job.
WOW..this is such an inspiring page..I love all things vintage..and this is priceless...great poem too! Thanks for sharing your families story, in such a beautiful page!!!
I am at a loss for appropriate words. We are so lucky to have had our Fathers and our Uncles, to come home and be with us as we grew up. I dont know how you managed to read these letters let alone compose them into a page of history. Your words are beautiful, as our Fathers were, and reguardless of past family history our Grandmother was truely a strong woman. I dont know how I would have survived three sons in a war. One would think, that would give an ever deeper abiding love for all of her children. Sometimes families do strange things to each other, but you know I love you and Buz as my sister and my brother. When you think about it, we were very lucky, no one could have been loved anymore than we were by our Fathers.
This warmed my heart! How wonderful for you that these letters still exist so that you could know your Father in his role as a son. Love the LO and the poem as well. What a wonderful tribute to your Dad!
now this is a wonderful, what loving ltrs,, this was really great and beautiful i love your story, that really made this page special, well done on another great page boo
Your poem gave me chills!!! Such a sweet, wonderful page!!! So glad that in your search, you have found out wonderful things!!! Great page!!! Love the photos and the background!!!
During WW 2 my grandmother had the unimaginable position of being the mother of 3 soilders in War. During the time my daddy was writing these letters part of them came from Somewhere in England as the ones on this page are and part were Somewhere in France. During this time Uncle Ray was in the hospital in England recovering from wounds recieved in combat, daddys whereabouts were vague and Uncle Mull was missing in action after being taken prisoner of war in Germany. Daddy in his letters convayed to Grandmother in one that he had seen uncle Ray in the hospital in England and he was doing fine and that he was trying to locate uncle Charles. In each of his letters he tried over an over to tell her to please not worry and he was worried that she would need money. These letters were very hard for me to read and I saw a side of my father that i did not know existed. I always knew he was a wonderful man to me the Hero of my life but I did not know that he was such a great Son. I wrote the following poem which came into my head as I read these letters. Letters to Granny I found letters to Grandma From my daddy many years ago Just how much he loved her I really did not know Each letter was Hello Mother Please dont worry about me or my brothers I have sent you money to use as you need Please keep sending letters for me to read. Thank you for the box that you and sisters sent But dear mother on you the money should be spent So while you sleep in your bed tonight. Just remember bothers and I will continue to fight And maybe soon we can come home To see our loved ones and no more to roam.
Dear Daddy , Uncle Ray (father of Blueridge) and Uncle Charles all came home to live good lives. Granny Net passed away in 1972 with all her sons safe at home.
