ours are buried in the back yard behind the pine trees, our very own little pet cemetery. not near as pretty as this one. very nice and concealed. nice landscraping to look at for passerbyers but a nice memorial for those that loved her.
All our pets are buried in our woodland area. My DH has to dig a really deep hole so that the Foxes don't dig them up. this is a lovely memorial to an obviously well loved dog.
It is such a shock when you lose a pet, and one that has been around for 13 yrs is even harder, as they become such a part of the family!!! Sarah has a beautiful resting place!!!
My mom's dog, Sarah, had to be put to sleep last April. She was 12-13 years old. I was sorry I couldn't be with my mom that day, though she had my dad. I was happy I was with her the week before she found out. We took Sarah to have her knee checked, vet said she needed surgery. This guy said her knee was fine, she had cancer... Sadly, Sarah was a walking side effect for the med's the first vet gave her. It said NOT to give to elderly dogs or to Dobermans. Honestly, I don't know what was the cause. Sarah was fine when the first day I was there, then...it was bad.
This is her grave. The wonderful people gave my mom several options. My mom had Sarah cremated, and was given her remains to bury. (the Hydrangea that in a pot in the front, was in this spot). My dad made the white cross and mounted the smaller cross. You can't see from this picture, but my mom planted Lanatas!
While, I'm glad Sarah is here, it's upsetting that the Suzie and Spaz (other pets) aren't here. We were never given the option of taking them home.
