What a wonderful page!! I really like the journaling. I also like how you did the pictures to make them look old and I like the curling also. How did you get the edges to curl like that?
Beautiful page and, as always, your journaling is great! Very cool how you printed the pics on cardstock- might have to try that one day! Love the vintage feel to this layout!
I love the journaling. The photos look wonderful...you really captured the vintage look with the tearing and inking. This is what scrapping is all about! Memories dear to you! Great job!

This is stunning Susan, the colors drew me in from afar and then the wonderful distressed photo and your journaling. Sorry about your Dad, he is around somewhere up there and knows how you feel. Suzie x

Gorgeous!! Your journaling brought tears to my eyes. So sweet! I LOVE these pics and the effect of the sepia tone and being printed on the cardstock look stunning. I didn't realize it was a picture at first until I read further down. It looks like a Christmas card and gives a very comforting feeling when I see it. Thanks for sharing!!

Photos that my DS, Matthew took recently during a visit to my Mama's house. He actually took the pics in sepia tones...giving it that "old" feeling! I wanted to use some of my 7 Gypsies pp that I ordered recently....just HAD to have them!!! LOL I printed the pictures on plain cardstock, tore the edges, inked and curled the edges. If you visit my gallery very often, you know that journaling is a big part of my scrapping. I wanted to jot down some thoughts that are important to me and they are thoughts that I'd like for my children and grandchildren to know about my Daddy. Journaling is tucked behind the red mat and reads:
To most people, this appears to be just another dilapidated building. To me, seeing these pictures bring back memories of my Daddy. Mama and Daddy moved to this small Georgia town in 1972. They bought a house and 2 acres of land. Before long, Daddy began to add his own personal touches to the property. I remember that he always had a great love for building things…and this old building is one of the “things” that he built. Nestled in the edge of the woods, he used it to store his riding mower and different “tools” often used by this small town “farmer.” Right next to the building was the garden that he lovingly tended every summer. He spent most days during the summers, tending his garden, and working in the yard. Retirement meant that he could spend all the time he wanted - working outdoors – building, creating, and growing veggies for family and friends. Daddy died on May 19, 2000….and over the years since then, the building has settled into a sad state of neglect. The ivy that grew wild in the woods nearby has nearly covered the building. Windows are broken and shingles are missing from the roof. I wish it still looked as new and sturdy as it did 30 years ago…and I wish my Daddy was here to tend to his garden and paint his shed. I wish I had one more chance to say “I love you” and I wish he was here to give me just one more hug. I miss you, Daddy!
