Shima is the sweetest cat I have ever known. I adopted him from the pound in Japan as an adult kitty of unknown age, and when I brought him home, he went out the doggie door and into the street and got hit my a car. He was in ICU for 2 weeks. When I brought him home again, we had to feed him through a tube in his stomach for two months, and teach him to navigate the house as he was now blind. Of course, we immediately got rid of the doggie door. This was 9 years ago. He has flown with us home from Japan and always adjusts well to each place we have lived. He loves being outdoors so DH put up a fenced area for him. When I come home at night, he is sitting right here inside the door waiting for me. I think he really likes these furry door stoppers, too. At the very least, it is always a visual treat for me to see him sitting here with them.
