Maurie was my father's best friend -- both set out for WW2 -- Dad in the Army and Maurie in the Air Force. Dad returned. Maurie did not.
Maurie was Nellie and Stubb's only son -- when they died the photographs were up for anyone who cared. I guess I cared the most -- and wanted to still cherish the man that Dad loved as his good friend.
When I go, this book will go to the proper town museum.
