Thanks for the feedback, everyone! The straw looks great, but was a bit of a pain to manage. It wanted to curl the opposite of wherever I wanted it. If you try it, be prepared to be patient.
Me and my niece, Chelsea, on a haystack in Texas. Me and my brother's family stayed on my uncle's ranch for Christmas 2003. I loved climbing haystacks as a kid, so I got to show my niece how it's done.
Products Used: Paper Reflections black cardstock, Basic Grey Aged&Confused Phresh & Phunky Phunny carstock, plain raffia for the hay, 19-gauge dark anneled steel wire for the barbed wire, Dymo labels, Sizzix Doodlebar letters, Sizzix mini tags, ribbon.
I made the barbed wire by twisting two strands together and then feeding little short pieces between it. The state of Texas I just drew freehand and cut out with scissors. Raffia has a mind of it's own, so be patient if you're going to use it!
