oh my that noah's arc menorah is adorable! And the handmade Menorah is just...precious. My eyes are certainly opened now to the creative possibilities of a menorah. These are really nice. I want one now!
I can see that the one with the children must be a special favorite as it makes all the photos. Thanks for sharing all your wonderful memories of each item with us.
These are some of the various menorahs we own. Far left is a lennox Noah's Ark menorah my mom gave me as a gift a few years ago. I've never used it and never will - it's a part of my Noah collection and on display all year. The center brass menorah was given to Jon by the Sisterhood at our temple on the occasion of his Bar Mitzvah last March. We haven't used it yet, and he may choose to at some point - likely when he gets his first apartment. Far in the back is a $1 store version - a little mettal box with holes in the top (roof of "house") and inside is storage for the candles. Very cute and perfect for a small child. The curved white one you can't see too well has the letters from the dreidel cut out in it and symbolizes the famous walls of jerusalem. Front and center is the first child-made menorah we ever had. It's bolts, hotglued to pennies and hot glued to a ktichen tile. Jon made this in Kindergarten hebrew school :) TOO CUTE!
