The journaling reads "Moving is hard. New house, new school, new places. Trying to make new friends...and in the mean time, how do you keep yourself occupied? For you, Evan, that means using your vivid imagination. Dad and I have been hearing all sorts of tall tales, which you insist are the truth. We know better. We've had long talks with you--about the difference between telling a story and telling a lie, and the consequences of lying. We want you to feel like you can tell us the truth about anything. But we also want to encourage your imagination. Use it 'for good, not evil'. We started story time at dinner, so you had a chance to share your stories with us. This week, we've heard a lot of time machine stories from you. One in particular made a huge impression on me. It was about going so far back in time that it was before time began and nothing was there. Wow! What a concept for a 6 year old to talk about. I'm so proud of you Evan, you're a great kid with a fantastic imagination and a gift for story-telling. A gift that should be remembered...here's a book for you to record your stories.
