SHCG: I would never think to scrap my cell phones, but seeing this it made me realize how things like cell phones can take you back to a time in your life. Great idea and perfect quote! For your empty space issue I have one idea though not sure if it is a good one.... Take some of that dark grey from the pp in the top right corner and cut three small circles. In each circle write a silly cell phone catch phrase around the circle (i.e. "Can you hear me now"). Place one circle above "you". One circle below the end of "changing" and the other in the bottom right. I was just thinking that this would fill the space and continue the addition throughout the LO. But that's just me.
SHCG: Hate admit it but I had never heard of Bruce Barton. So I wiki-ed him...and I am happy to report at least I know what BBDO is. Back to your layout. LUV your layout, torn pattern paper, and title. Part of me wants to see a personalized phone in some way. Examples: photo of a family member holding a cell phone, a heap of your used phones, a decorated phone, etc. But I'm ok with just leaving the bottom right blank.
SHCG: What a cool layout and very creative! The papers go great and I love all the pics of the different phones you had. It'll be great to go back and look at this lo years from now! Great job :)
SHCG: This is such a creative and awesome answer to the challenge. This will be especially meaningful another 20 years from now when you're looking back at the cell phones on this page noticing how much technology will have changed by then. Personally, the bottom corner doesnt bother me THAT much...maybe a small photo of you speaking on one of your phones could go there?
SHCG: This is such a great idea!! Absolutely love that you found all of these pictures of the different cell phones you've had (do tell me how you like the voyager! I'm so jealous). I love the ripped paper, just enough to reveal the striped background. Love the red mats on the photos, it really makes them stand out. I see what you mean about the bottom right corner, but I have no suggestions. There are a few below me that would work. (hey I think i had that fourth from the left! lol). This is just a great LO!
SHCG: This is a wonderful response to the quote challenge! A really great and creative idea...and you know something funny...I am still using the LG phone that you have circa 2004 written next to it. It is sitting next to me right now and has been a good phone. I even dropped it in a toilet once (a flushed toilet) and it survived! Anway, love this page! I like how you staggered the phones but think you need something right above the words you are and also like you said in the bottom corner. I like Brenda's idea of the star and the pound sign and I like Sharon's 2008? idea. You could also rip up the corner on the lower right side and put some more of the striped patterned paper behind it. I love using small scraps of paper as an embellishment. Great idea and I think this page is great the way it is.
SHCG - This is FAB, Tiffany! Like Brenda says, I love learning about you, who would've thunk this about you?! I still think you should do the camera LO some day. Dig how you chose this quote to go w/ this...I was so preparing myself for a deep introspective "embrace change" personal LO when I read the quote (NOT that there'd be sumpin wrong w/ that) but seeing this instead is hilarious, hon! Everything is fantastic - colors, design, font, pp, tearing, etc. I'm fine w/ that space but I have a couple ideas. You can clip a tiny article about an upcoming phone (Iphone 2 perhaps?!) and put "2008?" underneath it. OR just put "2008?! Stay tuned" or "To be determined!" This is so excellent & an outstanding response to the WC! PS I have a like/hate relationship w/ my Chocolate...
SHCG: I love all the photos of all the cells! It's like history of the cell phone-the kids will have fun looking at this page and LOL at the old technology. I like the torn pp and the title! The journaling is great too! About the right corner that bugs you so much ( I think it looks fine the way it is)-can you move the photos of Rene's phone and yours and place them next to the one on the wish list-the same way like the top photos. then you'll have to move the title -may be, may be not, and put the journaling in the empty space on the right side ( well , I think you will have to resize it and print again). Looks great!
SHCG: I love learning more and more about your quirks. Now I know why you asked us to pick between cell or camera, and I would've chosen cell. I like how well the pixellated pp goes with the techno-feel of your subject, and I like the dates beside each photo. As you say, this IS such a fun look at your cell phone obsession. As for the right corner, I suggest to also consider the space just below changing, and try putting an * in one and a # in the other as you would find on the keypad. I also think if you crafted that wireless symbol with the bars ascending in size next to it, it could look techy and cool, too.
Title: when you are through changing, you are through -Bruce Barton Journaling: Cell Phone History 1998-Present Ok, I know that i am a bit of a technology junkie. I like to have the newest, fastest, and coolest gadgets with the bells and whistles. This obviously goes for my cell phones, as well. Although my first cell phone was out of necessity for Baby Jake, our current phones are all about fun and the "extras". I am lucky that Rene humors my love of all things techie. He may struggle to admit it, but he loves his new "chocoloate" and is even enabling me by encouraging my craving of the new LG Voyager! If what Bruce Barton says regarding change is true, I will never be "through" because I am always looking for the next best thing and I love every minute of it! December 2007
This was a response to Wendy's quote challenge for week #48. It is just a fun look at my cell phone obsession. The bottom right corner is bugging me because it is blank, yet I didn't like anything there. Suggestions?
