This is as close to doodling as I get! Doodled then handstitched over it with embrodery floss. By the way, I don't know if these are technically chipmunks or gophers--we couldn't agree--so I just called them chipmunks. :)

"Bryan, Mark, David and I were sitting in the living room when one of us noticed a chipmunk in the front lawn. We looked closer and noticed a couple more in the hole they had dug by our front side-walk. Soon we were all looking out the window and counting. At one point I counted at least eleven chipmunks poking their heads out and exploring the two-foot radius around the hole.
It reminded me of that Whack-a-Mole arcade game! Over the next week or two we watched as they got braver and ventured further and further from their hole. I figured they’d eventually dig up our entire yard, and Bryan and I started brainstorming ways to humanely get rid of them (all the while being extra careful with the lawnmower). Luckily they moved away before we found any more holes in the ground. Oh, the things you have to worry about when you buy a house. But I’d take chipmunks over apartment-living any time!"
