This is such a fabulous idea. I have some hardware draws I used to use in my classroom. It never occured to me that I could paint them and repurpose them. Thanks for the inspiration!
This is nice! you and I did the same things- sorta. I bought photo storage boxes at Ross that had tea roses on them. The boxes main colors are pinks, greens and creams. I am customizing everything for my future scrap space to match! I LOVE your storage unit! It's beautiful!!
This is a regular hardware unit purchased at Lowe's. It was a slate blue and I painted it with Krylon Fusion Paint for plastic. Then I got my inspiration from a box I bought at Ross' (pic 1) So I went into my creative mode, painted the green stripes with craft paint, used the same paint with a Judith stamp and then used Hydrangea "wallies" (wallpaper cutouts)on the top and sides (pics 4 & 5). After I did that I sanded it using an emory board. Then I took about a dozen different types of paper and cut them to size to fit the front of the drawers. Used a corner rounder and then sanded all the sides (all 36 of them). Used my Xyron to put permanent adhesive on the back, placed them on each drawer. I used Basic Grey's Fusion Letters in purple. I love, love, love the way this turned out and all my chipboards and letters are now super organized! Thanks for Looking!
