Love this!! We don't do Santa in our house either! We have a birthday party for Jesus and exchange gifts because it's His birthday. The girls always get confused when someone asks them what Santa is bringing them for Christmas because they really don't know who he is. Great page!!! In my faves!!
I so love that you did this. It helps me not focus so much on running around trying to get the perfect gift this holiday season. you are a brave sould for putting this out there and I applaud you!
This is a layout for tomorrow's ScrapFaith challenge (http://scrapfaith.blogspot.com) which runs from 12/16-12/31.
My family does not "do" the Santa thing and many people ask us about that decision. This is a layout that explains our feelings about the focus of the holiday season. I know some of you Santa lovers may not agree with us, but hey! that's okay! What's life without all varities of people? LOL!
Journaling Reads: Sorry Santa. We don’t focus on you at Christmas time. During this season we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, the central figure in our lives and He represents the magic of the season. He was the ultimate example of giving, charity, love, compassion and joy. We give gifts to our children to symbolize the gifts given to the Christ child from the 3 Wisemen. We teach our children to give to others and serve as Christ did.
So, sorry Big Guy, but there is no place for you in our holiday festivities. We are not meanies or spoil sports, we just want to teach our children the TRUE reason for this Season.
