What to make of these frightening plastic creatures inhabiting the middle of my kitchen floor? From whence did they come and where are they going? This mommy detective suspects that they are a pesky side effect of my children’s fascination with dinosaurs. Not that I mind them being fascinated with dinosaurs, no, quite the opposite. I talk to Garrett all the time about the joys and rewards of being a paleontologist and hope I’m planting the seeds of a lifelong interest. I’ll do the same with Juliana when she gets old enough to understand and between the two of them it just might stick. So, in spite of toes stubbed on sharp little toy dinosaur heads and teeth I smile at these small prehistoric visitors. I hope they provide lots of dreams and inspiration for the future.
