It occurred to me that I would really like to have sort of a "record" of our marriage and how it progresses to add to the kids' books. Maybe it will provide some insight into their own marriages some day. I think it's so important that they know that it's not all peaches and cream all the time, and that sometimes its work, but that it is worth fighting for. Will and i don't fight very often, but Heaven knows we have our days!! lol! can anyone relate??!!? (Thanks Dana for the snapshot!! Please continue to remind me that we need more of these!! lol!)

JOURNALING: This is us, just over 6 years into marriage and almost 10 years together. Gage, you are now old enough to start noting the love and laughter as well as the arguments and imperfections in our relationship. Alyssa, although you probably don’t understand what’s going on most of the time, you are quick to pick up on our tone with each other. It is so important for you both to know that we are not perfect. You will hear us argue [sometimes as often as] you hear us laugh together. You will witness selfless acts of kindness towards each other as well as behavior that resembles spoiled little children. You will see us bring out the very best in each other, yet the very worst can be just as easily tapped into with something as simple as a remark or a gesture. Now some of this may imporve with maturity, but you will probably see enough of it to remember. It’s important that you know all of this so that when you do see us argue, you will learn to expect to see us make up. You will be able to walk around simply knowing that our love for each other (and for both of you) is so very real and so very strong and that we will work and fight on a daily basis to keep it together, inspite of the struggles around us. Just in case you ever wonder... he is the love of my life and I am so thankful that he chose me. This love is unconditional and we will treat it as such.
