Journaling:Noah’s first bus trip alone going from Toledo, OH to Milwaukee, WI to visit his Dad for Christmas. I was quite concerned about him traveling on his own at 14 especially since he had a layover in Chicago, IL. Here’s our conversation: Mom: I’m not sure I like that you are traveling alone (debating in my head whether I should buy a bus ticket too so I can at least go to Chicago and wait with him). Noah: Mom I know what to do. Thankfully we had taken the bus to Milwaukee in May of this year and told Noah when we were in Chicago that this is where you get off the bus and where you catch the bus to get to Milwaukee. You know you have to let them go and learn how to handle things so they can grow up but it’s still so hard. I worked that day and I was not able to take Noah to the bus. Tim had his sister drive them to the bus stop (Tim could not do it since he was still on surgery restrictions). Tim took a few pictures of the bus and Noah getting ready to board. I downloaded the photos to the computer and happened across the photo of Noah waiting to board the bus and all of sudden it hit me that he’s growing up right before my eyes. Noah you’ll always be my baby but I want you to grow up to be an independent young man.
