This is the first page of surviving the ice storm. When we realized we had no water I was forced to drive out in the ice and was praying that we could just find water somewhere. The employees were standing in the stores with flashlights shining them in the cases so you could see what you needed. I asked if there was any water and she said No but that I could get all I needed from the hose outside. I had driven to where there was city water. They eventually brought us bottled water and gave it out. Albertsons grocery was so dark and the lines were lined up to the back of the store and there was a two hour wait. We played alot of games and talked. My mom made soup on the gas stove to keep the house warm and we just put it outside to refrigerate it. My house stayed so cold that the water froze in the toilets and I did not lose a single thing in my frig or freezer. It stayed completely cold and frozen.
