To answer a question, I used double-sided tape to get the ribbon to fold where I wanted it to; a craft knife to make a slit through the whole thing; and then inserted the brads to keep it nice and tight (relatively speaking).
No, I didn't iron the corners, just pressed them with my fingers for the crease and then used the double-sided tape. And iron wouldn't have been a bad idea but I was too lazy to go to the trouble. Guess it depends on how well the ribbon used will hold a hand-done crease.
This is probably my favorite of the scrapbook pages I've created. I used 1" ribbon for the frame and was scared to death to use the brads but they worked out fine. I used my Cricut for all the larger letters and a butterfly punch with inking for the butterfly (to hide another butterfly I messed up). I still have trouble making everything straight but maybe a little crookedness adds to a "handmade" look???
