A LO of my recent college graduation..also a reflection of my challenges and accomplishments over the last ten years. **PLEASE EXCUSE THE POOR STITCHING JOB!** Journaling reads: Overcoming challenges has been the story of my life. It seems this journey of mine has been one gigantic obstacle course full of both hills and mountains. I used to feel sorry for myself and I used to wonder why me? I have since learned to embrace challenges because I know that without them I would not be the college graduate that I am today. I feel a sense of ownership to my life because I know that I accomplished something that few believed I could. Ten years ago I stood in a similar cap and gown at the same Idaho State University Stadium. Ten years ago I stood as a similar woman…a mother and a wife but the difference between these two women is that now I am confident of who I am and where I am going… then I was a scared teenager…now I have confidence to face my future. I took what was thrown in my way as a teenager and used it to become a better person. I am proud to stand today as a college graduate because I overcame many fears, obstacles and challenges. I persevered and I triumphed. I learned a lot about who I am and what my limits are, as well as earned a deep respect for all of the people who supported me so that I could reach this point in my life. Today I graduated and today I understand what true accomplishment really is.
