My grandma and I for my Kindergarten graduation. 1969-ish!

My grandma, your Gabby's mother was born in Czechslovakia. Her greatest joy was the weekly Sunday family dinners.
She enjoyed cooking 3 entrees and everybody would come over and really enjoy her cooking and family times together (mostly playing cards.)
Every May we would make a crown for the Virgin Mary statue and decorate a table we displayed in the dining room to pray to Mary daily. Every time I see a lilac I think of her. It was her favorite flower. Her entire backyard was generously adorned with lilac bushes, and there was always plenty of vases full to keep our house smelling so fragrant whenever they were in bloom. Lilacs have now become my favorite flower as I always remember the great woman that raised me...my grandma Bugos.
