WOW!!! what a letter. so scary to think that this could happen to a little one but thank goodness she spoke up. hope every day gets better and better for her!
I am so sorry this happened to her but am glad she knew to say something to her parents. She is a very strong little girl. Love that you did a tribute page to her concerning this.
PHew.... this is so so hard to conemplate. You too are a brave soul for putting this out there, we now know where your granddaughter gets her courage! My thoughts and prayers are with you and yours.
Oh My - what a sad situation for your granddaughter to have to endure, but I agree that she's a hero for speaking up and saving other children from possible harm.
Glad to hear she is dealing with it all in a healthy way. Praying for continued progress for your family.
TFS something so "real" - your LO is beautiful.

Oh my.. Reading this brought tears to my eyes.. I have one grandson so far and can not imagine all the feelings that brought into your lives. I really can appreciate that you chose to scrap the positive side of this.. Wow did that ever take courage on your part. And what a sweet little girl.. May God bless your sweet little grand daughter and keep her safe from harm. Keep making her a stronger as she grows up but keep the sweetness in her heart. May God bless Marissa. Amen..
Well. I'm speechless I think. Not only is this a beautiful lo, but I am humbled at how smart your little Marissa is. God bless you all especially Marissa and she weathers this and I hope the animal went to jail who hurt her.
WOW!! what a powerful lo! not only is it soo lovely, but what a message!! I love your unique flower with the ribbon, everything thing about this lo is beauituful, except the abuse... what a strong little girl, she will move mountains some day!
Amazing journaling! Thank you for sharing your story. I just wish there were no stories like this!!! What a brave and beautiful little girl!! The picture is beautiful and I love the layout! Great job with the challenge, too. Love the flowers!
Such a beautiful picture of a beautiful little girl. You can see what spirit she has. My prayers are with you as you come to terms with such a trying event in your lives. What a courageous little girl; it's easy to see why you are so proud. Beautiful page with very moving journalling.
WOW! Thank you for sharing this important issue with us. It's horrible, scary and disgusting, but I'm glad that your granddaughter was able to put a stop to it! I hope her parents have her in counseling and continue bringing her throughout her adolescent years!
Oh, my heart is breaking for this sweet little granddaughter of yours. This is the kind of LO that I have NEVER seen before, but I think it's a good one - - and I'm sure it means a good bit to Marissa now, and even more down the road when she's older. You said "Don't assume your children are safe"...those words are soooooo true and a LOT of children could be saved if every parent and caregiver always kept that in mind. We never leave our children with ANYONE. It's sad that that's the type of world we live in today...but it's also awesome because our family is very close from spending so much time together. Thanks for sharing this awesome layout! I love your design, too...
This is a very beautiful, inspirational and couragious LO for you to make but most important for her to keep as this will remind her at later age (maybe already) that she was brave enough to step up and take action rather than to let things just happen. Not many kids her age would take such a big step (speaking from experience) and come forward with this. It is indeed a difficult and awkward subject to talk about but ohh so important. I am sure this will be something that she'll keep close at heart. Praises for you for sharing this and praises to your granddaughter for stepping up to save herself and other children. Me heart goes out to her...
This lo was done for a challenge on another site- you were to include a letter to someone. I wrote a letter to my five year old grand daughter- reminding her that she is my "Hero." Almost a year ago- she, at then age four- told her parents that she was being sexually molested at her day care. This took so much courage on her part and I am so proud of her. Not only did she stop what was happening to her- but possibly saved other children from being abused. I am so thankful that she is doing well thanks to counseling and lots of love. I still have so much anger inside concerning what happened to her- and eventually I hope to do a couple layouts addressing those feelings. To all you parents and grandparents- don't assume your children are safe. My grand daughter was in the care of good friends of my Son and DIL- people they had known for 10 years. Thier 17 year old son was the abuser. Please- talk to your children, keep the lines of communication open. It is a topic we don't want to think or talk about. But it is so important. Thanks for letting me share- this is still so emotional for me.
My Dearest Marissa,
I don't even know where to start to tell you how very proud I am of you. You have come so far this last year and I feel such joy and happiness to see that we are finally getting our beautiful, spunky and happy Marissa back. When I think about what you did- I am still in awe. I am so thankful you had the courage to speak out and tell your Mommy and Dad that you were being sexually abused at day care. It took so much courage and bravery for you to tell. You not only protected yourself but also many other children. You are definatel a "Hero". Very few people ever become heroes, especially at the age of four years old! This means you are very special! And don't you forget it. I love you so much and don't forget... Grandma will always be here for you.
