She was Mama to me...how I miss her so!
She took me in as a baby and a toddler, when no one wanted me. She helped my Dad take care of me. My Grandparents were Parents to me. The best friends I had as a child, or ever for that matter! How I long to be with them again!
Grandma came by covered wagon at the age of 2 with her parents from Colorado Springs, Colorado, to the Puyallup Valley. They were some of the earliest settlers there. They camped their first night by Clarks Creek, in Puyallup, WA.
After my Grandparents were married, they built a house on Shaw Road, which is named after my Great Uncle, Frank Shaw. Both he and Grandpa made Shaw Road. My Dad was born in that house. It is still standing today!
This picture was taken while my Grandmother was going to Bible College in Portland Oregon. Her Father, my Great Grandfather, Christopher Shaw, wanted her to become a Missionary, but my Grandpa had other ideas! They were soon married after that!
